Brainworx Therapy
Welcome to My Practice
Therapy Services
With years of experience, we understand how to work with our patients to ensure they receive the best care possible. Our thoughtful and personalised approach means we are fully committed to the health and well-being of all our patients.
Swallowing Disorders
A swallowing disorder, called dysphagia, is a difficulty or inability to swallow.
Speech-language pathologists treat patients with a variety of speech-language and swallowing disorders. Our team maintains exceptional, high-level skills and clinical experience in the evaluation and treatment of swallowing disorders. We devote a significant amount of our clinical practice and continuing education to diagnosing and treating this complex disorder. Because of this dedication and training, our team have learned the latest, state-of-the art clinical approaches and can most effectively and efficiently evaluate and treat individuals with swallowing disorders.
We have studied extensively and remain current on research in the field of swallowing and swallowing disorders. The Brainworx team provides appropriate, evidence-based treatment techniques to address the swallowing problem(s) of each individual, based upon a comprehensive swallowing assessment.
Speech and Language Disorders
Acquired speech and language problems may arise for a number of different reasons. These may include stroke, brain injury, acquired progressive disorders, head and neck cancers, dementia, motor neurone disease, and Parkinson's disease. We offer assessment, specific advice and targeted therapy tailored to the patient's needs. If appropriate, therapy may be offered in a one-to-one session, on a group basis or by training carers to support clients.
The team works closely with carers and other staff groups, such as doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, nurses and dieticians, to offer assessment and advice.
Voice Treatments
Through a holistic approach to medicine, I view each patient as a whole rather than a single symptom to be treated. This is just one of many procedures I perform when coming up with any diagnosis.
We work within a multidisciplinary team, including ENT Surgeons, Gastroenterologists, Chiropractors and Physiotherapists to manage complex voice difficulties.
